He received both his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and his Doctorate of Medicine degrees from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Casadaban was one of only three candidates selected from around the country to enter the highly competitive LSU program of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. There he completed his post-graduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a one-year general surgery internship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
Years of extensive training have allowed him to offer a wide variety of oral and facial procedures to his patients. These include general anesthesia and intravenous sedation, removal of wisdom teeth, dental implants, pediatric and adult oral/facial trauma, jaw surgery, facial cosmetic and laser surgery, TMJ surgery, and surgical removal of oral and facial tumors with reconstruction of these defects. He is part of a Baton Rouge Cleft Lip and Palate team where he serves this community as a team surgeon correcting jaw deformities and tooth/ bone defects.
Dr. Casadaban has a special interest in dental implants, including bone grafting procedures, complex CT scan planning, and peri-implant soft tissue augmentation. Such procedures include “teeth in a day” where the patient leaves surgery with dental implants and permanent teeth the same day. He has published research in dental implants and bone grafting procedures. He lectures on these topics, providing continuing education classes around the state of Louisiana. He also is up to date with the latest technology and innovations regarding corrective jaw surgery for deformities, including obstructive sleep apnea.
Dr. Casadaban is directly affiliated with teaching residents from his former program at LSU as a Clinical Assistant Professor. This involves resident teaching at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. There he offers his expertise in oral and facial trauma care. He believes in the power of teaching, which allows him to offer his knowledge and experience to future surgeons while continuing to provide quality care for the community.
